9/4 Shopping Saturday!

So I was in a hurry to get shopping done today because we were going to a festival (the Piqua Heritage Festival). My "quick" shopping trip turned into 2 hours because I saw a friend and we chatted a while, at both CVS and Meijer they messed up my transactions/missed coupons, things rang up wrong, etc. UGH! It was a frustrating shopping day overall. My first stop was Walgreens and that was a quick in and out trip because everything was SOLD OUT that I wanted. Next stop was CVS. Here is my receipt:

2 Tasters Choice Sticks $1.00 each - 2/.75 coupons = .25 cents each
4 Gold Emblem spices .88 cents each
Cholest-Off $10.99 (this rang up wrong) - $3.00 coupon = $7.99
Blink Tears $7.99 - raincheck used and $1.50 coupon = $6.49

Used $10 ECB, $5 ECB, $1 ECB and $1 ECB

Subtotal $1.50
Tax .71 cents
Total $2.21

Received $8 ECB for Blink Tears

I thought the total seemed high and I should have gotten another ECB so I went to the van and checked my receipt to see what went wrong.

The Cholest-Off was supposed to be on sale for $7.99 and I was supposed to get a $4 ECB.

So I guess the cashier did a return of the Cholest-Off and gave me $2.21 cash and a gift card with a balance of $9.53 on it.

Then she rang it up again for $7.99 + .54 tax = $8.53 and used my gift card.

So I have $1.00 on a gift card and another ECB for $4.00

My current ECB/gift card total is: $5.00 ECB from last week, $1.00 gift card, $4.00 for Cholest-Off and $8.00 for Blink Tears = $18.00. :)

Meijer

Bananas $1.20
Milk $2.39
Butter $2.99 (I HAD to have it, the price about killed me though)
2 Ziploc containers $2.00 each (used raincheck) - $1.50/2 meijer coupon AND $1.50/2 coupon = .50 cents each
3 Huggies baby wipes $2.00 each - $2.50/3 coupon (cashier only took $2 off for some reason?!?!) = $1.33 each
8 cans of Campbell's Vegetarian Vegetable soup (getting ready for this winter, yo) $1.50 each - 2/$1.00/4 coupons = $1.25 each
5 jars of Peter Pan peanut butter .99 cents each
Taco Bell Dinner Kit $1.18 - $1.00 coupon = .18 cents
2 Meijer flour tortillas $1.39 each
10 (yes you read that right) Kraft chunk cheese $1.66 and $1.67 each - 2/$5/5 coupons = $16.67 - $10 in coupons = $6.67 divided by 10 = .67 cents each (it gets better than that...see the end of this transaction)
Eckrich sausage $1.67 - .35 coupon = .97 cents
2 John Morells Franks $1.34 each - $1.00/2 coupon = .84 cents each

Total = $45.77 (.57 tax) - $5.00 cash given back (see below) = $40.77

Total Meijer Promotions $1.50
Total Non-Coupon Savings $22.28
Total Coupon Savings $13.20
Savings Total $36.98

Again I thought my total seemed high so I went to the van to check my receipt.
She had only taken ONE $5 coupon off!
I hardly explained it to the CS dude and he just handed me a $5 bill.
I didn't realized the wipes coupon didn't take off $2.50 till I got home and I'm not going back for .50 cents. HA

I got a $5.00 catalina for buying $15 in kraft (or a bunch of other brands).

I then rushed home and got everyone ready for the festival.
